I am currently in sunny Phoenix Arizona. Well technically I am in Scottsdale, but that’s really like splitting hairs. We are touristing in and out of both areas anyways. So far it has been really lovely. I get to wear sandals to go outside and I don’t have to worry about snow getting in them. Also, I went for a jog this morning and didn’t have to worry about slipping on the ice. Also a lady who was out walking her job told me that it was too hot to be jogging, but I told here that there was snow at home so that I had to take advantage of this. In actual fact it was gorgeous weather for a jog, nice and sunny and warm, but enough of a breeze to prevent death and ZERO humidity. That is perhaps my favourite part.
We have the next few days planned out on touristy things, complete with a Phoenix Suns game on Thursday night. I am kind of excited about this as I have never seen a professional basketball game live before. We were hoping to see the Coyotes play, but they are on the road this week. To compensate, we are going to see the St. Louis Blues play the Dallas Stars next week on our way home. So exciting!
Phoenix looks exactly like I expected it to look. There are palm trees and cacti all over the place, not to mention the mountains. Even the houses and neighbourhoods look like they ‘should’ if you get my meaning. They are all a reddish or other dirt colour and the roofs are terra cotta esque tiles. I should probably post pictures rather than trying to say it with words, but it is all pretty epic thus far.
What are you all up to?
