There is snow in Wisconsin.
I want to go back to Phoenix.

On the Road Again.
My friend Sarah and I are driving from Phoenix to Ontario. It is quite the undertaking.
Today we drove from Scottsdale, Arizona to Amarillo, Texas by way of Flagstaff and Albequerque, and across a time zone. Just about 11 hours in the car. Super fabulous!
The slightly incongruous feature was the snow in the mountains of Arizona that continued on through New Mexico. It was good to start out...
Today we are going to the zoo!
I hope there’s elephants …

'Miss Celebrity Fight Night'
There was a tree blocking part of the billboard, so I spent a bit of time at the stoplight wondering why anyone would want to be ‘Miss Celebrity Fight Night’.
Turns out they were just encouraging people not to miss the fight.

An Abundance of Cacti
I am currently in sunny Phoenix Arizona. Well technically I am in Scottsdale, but that’s really like splitting hairs. We are touristing in and out of both areas anyways. So far it has been really lovely. I get to wear sandals to go outside and I don’t have to worry about snow getting in them. Also, I went for a jog this morning and didn’t have to worry about slipping on the...

Holiday Wishes
I hope you all had, or are having, a wonderful Christmas.
Even if there is no snow.
Also: feel free to come over for peanut butter pie. Preferably before I eat it all.

Weekend Plans: The Recap
Friday:
And so it begins. Though it was a bit of a slow start to be honest. Typical me. First I had to create some CD’s to exchange with the lovely Janessa. Then I had to finish reading some books. And of course the requisite workout and shower. And then it was all about packing up the car and heading on my way.
And then I got lost. Who’s surprised about this turn of events?...

Just not now because my fingers are frozen.

Weekend Plans!
I actually have some! For the first time in ages! I am very excited!
Though perhaps the term ‘plans’ is a bit too formal for the loose concoction of ideas that we have compiled, right?
But still, exciting.
Beware Caledon, St. Catharines, Niagara Falls and Buffalo: we’re coming for you.

Research.
Have any of you ever stayed at a B&B in Picton? Or do you know someone who has?
We’re looking to send the parentals there as a Christmas gift, so I am turning to the internets for assistance.
Any ideas?

Sometimes I forget how old I am.
Until I type in a birthdate that is less than mine in the computer at work and it auto-generates their age. Which is always older than I thought. Causing me to remember that I am older than I thought.

On my drive to work this morning
I saw a hubcap in a tree.
It really made me wish I had a camera.

You should all try out the Game of Things.
It’s pretty good fun.
Although I think it would be improved by playing with people that don’t know you as well, so that they don’t catch on when your answer for half of them is ‘Alexander Skarsgard’.
Or something.

I feel compelled to post something

Motivational Tactics
It’s really strange how much more jogging I do when there is a potentially attractive running man going the opposite direction around the circuit.
Or maybe not that strange …

Skill Set
Why is it that every time I pour the Brita it drips?
It’s not like I’m so inept I cannot pour water.
Except it kind of is.
Sad.
Guess who's wearing tapered leg sweats today?!

Shopping Spree
I went shopping with Momma yesterday and it was a surprisingly good experience. This is not always the case when Momma and I do the same thing at the same time, so it was a nice change.
It all started with a belt. I seem to never own pants that will stay up of their own accord, and gravity being what it is, I really needed a new belt. Plus I had a couple of coupons, so I wanted to use them,...

In other news . . .
Momma is in NYC for a few days on a bus trip and I am awash in a mixture of jealousy and nostalgia.
I told her to bring me back something pretty. Here’s hoping she remembers.

One of those days.
I am going to a Hallowe’en party tonight!
It’s been years since I have done that. So fo course, I have the car all packed and am ready to go. The downside is that I have to work today. I had hoped that at least work might be busy enough for the day to pass quickly.
It does not seem to be obliging today.
It will probably be busy tomorrow when I am exhausted and don’t care.

Nervous.
Interview today after school for an LTO that I really want.
I choose to think of getting the interview as a good experience and am not counting on the job at all. At the same time, I am hoping that all the other math teachers have jobs so that they will have to take me simply based on lack of options.
How’s that for dichotomy?

It can be an awful struggle to look presentable ....
When almost none of your clothes fit.
Apparently I need to go shopping, or learn how to take things in.
Methinks shopping will win.
Anyone want to go tomorrow? Unless I have school that is.

I got a coupon in the mail today.
Now I just want to go buy things.
In other news, Amazon has stopped holding one of my orders hostage so that is exciting.

'Robbery'
Today’s High Point:
One of the ladies I work with got back from lunch and came right over to my desk. She whispered to me that she had committed robbery today. I asked her what happened and she opened her purse and pulled out two springrolls that she smuggled out of the restaurant where she and her family went for Thanksgiving.
And they were delightful.
She also told me all about her...

Silence is deafening when your ears won't stop...
The lovely CCraig is visiting me this weekend and we have been involved in all sorts of crazy shenanigans. I will probably need the rest of the week to fully recover, because since I got old this behaviour has become somewhat out of character. Let me run it down for you:
Thursday, 5pm: arrival. Then we had a lovely dinner that I barbequed and went to Zumba class. After Zumba we rushed home to...

Texture Issues
Last night was Girl’s Night, complete with:
Zumba class - somewhat confusing because it was the same songs but different routines than I am used to
a workout - acceptably average, I do enjoy having access to weight machines
pan Asian dinner cuisine - and since we were dining with a chef in training, the little factiod that she had to eat a lamb testicle and ‘doesn’t like the...

I went shopping in reverse today! (Get it?)
Actually, I had to return some things to the mall, so I went in with bags and came out empty handed. It seemed a bit anticlimactic, except that one of the items was actually an exchange and I get to pick up my new one next week sometime. This would perhaps be more exciting if the mall in question weren’t at the total opposite end of the city...
